Why wasn’t Pauline ‘on fire,’ as the first Apostles were said to be at Pentecost? Was the Pentecost experience even possible, or to be expected in our time?
From Pauline’s earliest memories, there seemed to be a mysterious quest within her, a certain longing for that ‘something more.’ Despite receiving a good Catholic education and meeting Tom, the love of her life who shared her faith, what she was searching for continued to elude her for years.
Then, one day, a chance encounter with someone who spoke with passion about an experience he described as being ‘Baptised in the Holy Spirit’ changed her life forever. She now knew what (Who) she was searching for.
Join Pauline on her personal and evocative journey, as she shares her spiritual renewal and how God, through the Holy Spirit, has manifested Himself in her own life and in the lives of others. Her calling would lead her across the world, to India, China and Russia, often in dangerous circumstances, to follow God’s promptings.
Whatever your own beliefs, you cannot fail to be inspired by Pauline’s courage, dedication, and sheer conviction of her faith in God.
I knew I had to write this book! Way back in 1983, I believe I heard a message from the Lord saying,
“Thou shalt write of Me and of My work in thee,
Thy pen shall flow in My word”
Unsure of what these words could mean, I stored them in my heart for many years. It was only when, several decades later, in recounting snippets about my travels to China to my grandson and his fiancée, they prompted me to write down my memoirs. Time went by again, but it was only the enforced lockdown during the Covid pandemic which gave me the impetus, finally, to put pen to paper and to write my ‘spiritual memoirs’ for my children and grandchildren. One memory led to another and in time, encouraged by family and friends who felt that the book could appeal to a wider audience, my memoirs had suddenly turned into a book! It would seem that the second part of the prophetic message, “Thy pen shall flow in My word” was becoming a reality.
